Who I Am

Hi! My name is Dr. Elizabeth Aranda, ABPP {pronouns: she/her} and I am an award-winning, board certified counseling psychologist, educator, and consultant, committed to addressing healing and wellness within queer communities of color.

I obtained my PhD in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University, the only explicitly feminist - multicultural doctoral program in the nation, and completed my undergraduate training from University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em horns!). Before opening my own practice in 2020, I worked as a testing psychologist for Spectrum Practice of Berkeley since 2016.

Born and raised in Tejas by a first-generation immigrant family from Mexico, my unique experiences as a QWOC inspired my style of work that seeks to empower others with the tools to nurture healing, improve their emotional well-being, and strengthen resilience. Over the years I have come to realize that my life’s purpose is to give back to my communities by cultivating leaders, inspiring dreamers, motivating achievers, and supporting individuals to reach their goals. I aim to bring life and spirit back into those who have felt put upon or made to believe that they are not enough. My work is dedicated to helping diverse communities feel understood and empowered in their true selves.

In my free time, I love going hiking, gardening, reading tarot cards, cooking, and cuddling with my wife and cat.
